Hongtao joined ACIP in 2016 and handled hundreds of patent invalidation and litigation cases. Before that, he worked in the Patent Re-examination Board (now the Patent Re-examination and Invalidation Department) of China National Intellectual Property Administration for years, and also participated in revisions of the Patent Law, the Implementing Rules of Patent Law, and the Patent Examination Guidelines. He is well acquainted with patent application, re-examination, invalidation, and litigation procedures. He has valuable practical experience in handling intellectual property disputes and has a deep understanding of the standards of examination and judgement by China State Intellectual Property Administration and the People's Court.
